Is SoPure® Gentle Baby Laundry Detergent safe for eczema and newborn skin?
Yes. It is made for newborn skin and for eczema-prone, sensitive skin, with no enzymes, no synthetic fragrance and no harsh chemicals. It rinses clean and leaves no residue in the fabric, so the clothes against your baby's skin stay gentle, wash after wash.
Does an enzyme-free detergent still remove milk and stains?
Yes. SoPure® uses plant-based surfactants that break down milk, formula, food and odours, including sour milk from cloth nappies. Enzymes are a common irritant for sensitive skin, so SoPure® cleans without them.
How much should I use, and should I wash new baby clothes first?
Use 30 to 60ml, about two caps, for a 6kg load, by hand or machine. For heavy soiling or nappies, pre-soak with one cap in warm water for 30 minutes first. Wash new baby clothes once before the first wear to remove factory residue.
How is SoPure® different from a regular supermarket baby detergent?
Most supermarket detergents are made to shift stains, not to be gentle on a newborn, and many use enzymes and synthetic fragrance that can flare sensitive skin. SoPure® is plant-based, fragrance-free and enzyme-free, and it rinses clean. It is safe and it works, so you do not have to choose.
Is SoPure® made in South Africa and cruelty-free?
Yes. SoPure® Naturally is made in Johannesburg and has been trusted by 100,000+ South African mums since 2005. It is certified Beauty Without Cruelty, plant-based and grey water safe, so it is kinder to your baby and to the planet.
