SoPure® Sportswear Wash

Product Description

Caret Down

An activewear detergent that lifts sweat odour out of synthetic kit and rinses clean. Plant-powered, and it leaves no coating behind to hold the smell. Synthetic kit traps body oil deep in the weave, and detergent residue then seals it in. That is why gym clothes come out of the wash still smelling. This one lifts both.

It actually works. Turn the kit inside out and wash cold on your normal cycle. Hang it to dry and it is ready for the next session. Best for runners, cyclists, gym kit and school sports clothes. Shop the safe lane.

FAQ

Caret Down

Why do gym clothes still smell after washing?

Gym clothes still smell after washing because synthetic fabric repels water and holds body oil inside the weave. A normal wash lifts the sweat but leaves the oil, and the smell comes back the moment the fabric warms up. Using more detergent makes it worse, because the residue seals the oil in. SoPure® Sportswear Wash lifts the oil rather than covering it.

What is the best detergent for activewear?

The best detergent for activewear lifts body oil out of synthetic fibre and rinses away completely. Anything that leaves a residue or a softening layer will trap odour and reduce wicking. SoPure® Sportswear Wash is plant-powered, made with no petrochemical surfactants or optical brighteners. Trusted by 100,000+ South African mums since 2005.

What is the best way to wash activewear?

Turn each garment inside out, because the sweat and body oil sit on the inside. Wash cold, on a gentle cycle, away from towels and denim. Cold water is better than hot for activewear, since heat sets odour into synthetic fibre and shortens the life of elastane. Hang to dry rather than tumble drying. Wash after every session if you can.

Is it better to wash activewear in cold or hot water?

Cold. Hot water sets odour into synthetic fibre instead of lifting it, and it breaks down the elastane that gives kit its stretch. A cold wash with a detergent built for the job removes body oil without cooking it into the weave. SoPure® Sportswear Wash is made to work at cold temperatures, so nothing is traded away for the lower setting.

What is the difference between a sports wash and a regular laundry detergent?

A regular detergent is built for cotton, where dirt sits on the surface and washes off. Activewear is synthetic, so the problem is body oil held inside the fibre, and surface cleaning does not reach it. A sports wash targets that oil and rinses out completely, leaving nothing to hold the smell. SoPure® Sportswear Wash is plant-powered, certified by Beauty Without Cruelty, and made in Johannesburg.
